On April 2nd 2022, we were honored to partner with Bon Air Baptist Church to provide beds to area children without beds.
Our mission involved delivering and setting-up brand new beds for 24 local children without a bed of their own. Now it’s hard to imagine children in our community sleeping on floors, sofas and chairs, but we witnessed and addressed the need first hand. We all agreed, regardless of the reasons these needs exist, every child deserves the dignity of sleeping in a bed of their own. Thanks to our awesome donors and the wonderful volunteers from Bon Air Baptist Church, we made sure 24 children, who woke up without a bed of their own on the morning of April 2nd, would go to sleep in a brand new bed of their own that night.
Here‘s what we learned:
When community forms around an idea, task or mission, something beautiful happens:
People discover one another in new and more meaningful ways.
Strangers become acquaintances and friends.
We’re reminded that those we serve are human beings just like us.
